A young Maryland chef is among the contestants competing on the newest season of Gordon Ramsay’s “Hell’s Kitchen.”
Nadia Philips, a 2020 graduate of North Point High School in Charles County, is one of 18 chefs competing on Season 25 of the Fox cooking competition. Charles County Public Schools congratulated Philips earlier this month after announcing that she had been selected for the show.
Season 25 premiered Thursday, September 24, and features a special “25 Under 25” format, with every contestant age 25 or younger. The season was filmed at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, with contestants competing for $250,000 and a head chef position at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen restaurant at Foxwoods.
Philips is not the only Maryland chef with a connection to the long-running series. Michelle Houser Harris, co-owner, chef and manager of Full On Craft Eats & Drinks in Rockville, competed on Season 14 of “Hell’s Kitchen” in 2015. Harris, an Olney native and graduate of Gaithersburg’s former L’Academie de Cuisine, now helps operate Full On at 5566 Norbeck Road in Rock Creek Village Center. The restaurant, known for its scratch-made sandwiches and house-roasted meats, was previously named Maryland’s best sandwich shop by Business Insider based on Yelp reviews.
Season 25 features contestants divided between the Red and Blue teams and airs Thursdays on Fox, with episodes available to stream the following day on Hulu.
