A Clarksburg woman won a $50,000 Maryland Lottery prize after purchasing a Bonus Match 5 ticket while grocery shopping at Wegmans in Germantown.
The Montgomery County resident, who typically plays Multi-Match, purchased a Bonus Match 5 quick-pick ticket covering six drawings from September 4 through September 9 at the Wegmans located at 20600 Seneca Meadows Parkway. Her ticket matched all five numbers in the September 7 drawing, 1, 21, 24, 33 and 34, earning the game’s $50,000 top prize.
According to MD Lottery, the retired winner said she checked the ticket six times before believing she had won. As of September 25, when she claimed the prize, she and her husband had shared the news only with their children. She has not yet made plans for the winnings. Wegmans will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
