A Gaithersburg man won $50,500 playing Powerball with numbers he remembered from a dream, according to the Maryland Lottery.
According to MD Lottery, the man played two sets of numbers for the September 14 drawing and added the $1 Double Play option, which enters the same numbers into a second drawing.
While he did not win a prize in the regular Powerball drawing, one of his selections matched four of the five white balls plus the Powerball in the Double Play drawing, earning him $50,000. His second set of numbers matched three white balls plus the Powerball for an additional $500. The $50,500 winning ticket was purchased at Lakeside Beer and Wine, located at 6721 Lost Knife Road in Gaithersburg.
