After 40 years of playing the Maryland Lottery, a Montgomery Village man has won $50,000 playing Bonus Match 5, according to the Maryland Lottery.
The man claimed his prize on October 13 at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. He said he had previously won smaller prizes over the years, but never more than $1,000.
He discovered the win using the Maryland Lottery app, although his wife initially doubted he had won such a large amount. He plans to use the money for home improvements and repairs and says he intends to continue playing.
The winning ticket was purchased at Grape & Grain, located at 19233 Watkins Mill Road in Montgomery Village. The retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the ticket.
