Federal Authorities Disrupt Major Cocaine Trafficking Operations With Assistance From Montgomery County Police

A West Virginia man has pleaded guilty to a federal cocaine distribution charge in connection with a large-scale drug trafficking organization operating across Maryland and West Virginia, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia.

Stanley Delano Lum, 41, of Martinsburg, admitted to participating in an operation that distributed large quantities of cocaine in Berkeley and Jefferson counties over a two-year period.

According to federal court documents, the organization used multiple residences to store and distribute drugs. Members of the group also allegedly possessed firearms in connection with their trafficking activities and handled large amounts of cash from drug sales.

The investigation involved numerous federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, including the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), Prince George’s County Police Department, FBI, DEA and Homeland Security Investigations.

U.S. Attorney Matthew L. Harvey announced the guilty plea. U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble presided over the proceeding.  A sentencing date and potential prison term were not provided in the announcement.
