Our Mom Eugenia Moves Closer to Opening First Maryland Restaurant

Coming soon signage has been installed at the future home of Our Mom Eugenia at Westbard Square in Bethesda, marking another step toward the family-owned Greek restaurant’s first Maryland location.

The restaurant currently operates three locations in Northern Virginia, including Great Falls, Fairfax’s Mosaic District and Shirlington in Arlington. The Bethesda restaurant will become its fourth location and its first in a standalone building.

According to the restaurant, the new location will feature a year-round outdoor patio, along with expanded catering, pickup and delivery options.

As previously reported, developer Regency Centers secured a permit valued at $1.7 million for work on the restaurant space.

Our Mom Eugenia is named after chef Eugenia Markesini Hobson, who grew up on the Greek island of Zakynthos and previously cooked in the Bethesda area. Her sons, Alex and Phil, opened the original restaurant in Great Falls in 2016.

The restaurant previously announced plans for a fall 2026 opening, although an exact opening date has not been confirmed.
