The Rockville City Police Department, in partnership with the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, will host a gun buyback event on Saturday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at RedGate Park, located at 14500 Avery Road in Rockville.
The event provides an opportunity for individuals to voluntarily and anonymously surrender unwanted firearms, with no identification required and no questions asked. Participation is open to residents throughout the region and is not limited to Rockville residents.
Participants will receive a $100 gift card for functioning handguns, rifles, shotguns, and privately made firearms, or a $200 gift card for functioning assault weapons. Gift cards are limited and subject to availability, and police will determine which firearms qualify.
The event is drive-up only, with no walk-ups permitted. All firearms must be unloaded and placed in the vehicle’s trunk before arrival. Participants must remain in their vehicles and follow officers’ instructions. Ammunition and black powder muzzleloaders will not be accepted.
