Montgomery County Police responded to the 10200 block of Democracy Boulevard in Potomac.
Bethesda at approximately 10:50 pm Sunday for a report of a large party after people initially reported hearing what they believed were gunshots.
According to police, officers confirmed that the sounds were fireworks rather than gunfire.
According to Moderately MoCo, initial reports indicated that approximately 200 people were at the gathering, with screaming, crying and dozens of people reportedly seen running from the area. The outlet also reported that six police cruisers were on the scene.
Police reported that the party was successfully dispersed.
