County Council President Proposes Doubling Tax Rate on E-Cigarettes
Montgomery County Council President Tom Hucker has introduced a resolution to double the current tax rate on electronic cigarettes (vapes).
The tax rate on these items would increase from 30% to 60%. This is being proposed in an effort to protect public health. You can learn more about electronic cigarettes at: cdc.gov/tobacco/basic_information/e-cigarettes
A public hearing is tentatively scheduled for April 27, at 1:30 p.m.
