Baltimore Road in Rockville Closing for Several Months

As part of the City of Rockville’s Baltimore Road project, crews will close Baltimore Road for several months beginning on or about Wednesday, June 23, 2021. The roadway is expected to remain closed through mid-October.

The closure will be implemented between Gladstone Drive and Broadwood Drive. Crews have installed pedestrian and vehicle detour signage to safely guide motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists following the detour route.

During the closure, crews will be replacing the stream crossing culvert near Rockville Cemetery. Workers will also be installing storm drains and restoring the nearby stream. Following the closure, one of the final steps of the Baltimore Road Project will be repaving, which as of now is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2022.
