Montgomery County Leaders Discussing Local Vaccine Passport

During Wednesdays weekly COVID-19 update, County Executive Marc Elrich said that he supported the development of a regional or statewide vaccination passport for entry into businesses such as gyms and restaurants.

The county said they have had preliminary discussions with other local jurisdictions to do this together as a collective action, as it wouldn’t make sense to only have a handful of places participating.

Beginning August 16, New York City will require proof of vaccination for employees and patrons into certain businesses.

Right now over 85% of adults in Montgomery County have received the vaccine. The indoor mask mandate was reinstated in the county last Saturday.
