Person Struck by Train at Bethesda Metro Station

Metro Transit Police are currently investigating an incident that occurred today at the Bethesda Metro Station where a person was struck by a train.

One adult was transported by EMS with priority 1 trauma (highest level), according to Pete Piringer, Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services.

The patient was found under the train and was both conscious and alert prior to extrication. EMS also evaluated the train operator, who refused transport.

Piringer reports that the incident was likely intentional and no other injuries were reported. Passengers were present on the train at the time.
