MCPS: Anti-Racist Audit Survey Due March 31

Montgomery County Public Schools  students in grades 4-12 will be taking an age appropriate, anonymous survey in this month regarding institutional racism in Montgomery County schools.

Per MCPS:

Parents and guardians should check their email for a survey on racial and systemic barriers in MCPS. The anonymous survey will help us to better understand how racism affects teaching, learning and parent engagement. The survey is due by Thursday, March 31.

On February 2nd, Monifa McKnight provided an update on the Antiracist Audit.

Parents that do not want their children to participate in the survey have the ability to opt-out.

Per MCPS:
“Dear Montgomery County Public Schools Community,

On Feb. 2, 2022, Interim Superintendent Dr. Monifa B. McKnight shared this update on the ongoing work and commitment to address racial and systemic barriers in the school district. This email is to update you on surveys that will ask students to think about their experience in MCPS.

  1. All students in Grade 4 through Grade 12 will take an age-appropriate, anonymous survey in school between March 1 and March 31, 2022. Each school will decide on their date to administer the survey.
  2. Any parent or guardian who does not want their child to take the survey should complete this form.
  3. Here are some resources to help to better understand this survey:

    3. Explanation of what the survey will look like
