Sheetz to Offer Discounted Gas This Thursday at Grand Opening

Montgomery County’s first Sheetz, located at 751 Progress Way in Gaithersburg, will hold its grand opening on Thursday, August 24 from 1-3pm. In addition to a “Win Sheetz for a Year” giveaway, the store will be offering discounted gas prices for its first two days. Sheetz had initially announced that all fuel grades would be $2.99, but has since updated to the following:

  • Regular: $2.999
  • Mid-grade: $3.299
  • Premium: $3.599
  • E15: $2.699
  • E85: $2.499
  • Diesel: $3.499

Sheetz issued the following updated press release on Tuesday, August 22:
“CORRECTION: GAS PRICES TO VARY BASED ON FUEL GRADES
To celebrate this first-ever opening in Montgomery County, Sheetz will reduce its gas prices at this location starting at 9am on Thursday, August 24th and ending on Friday, August 25th at 11:59pm. The prices will vary based on the following fuel grades:

  • Regular: $2.999

  • Mid-grade: $3.299

  • Premium: $3.599

  • E15: $2.699

  • E85: $2.499

  • Diesel: $3.499

Ten cents from every gallon sold during this time will be donated directly to the Special Olympics of Maryland.Additionally, Sheetz will be hosting a grand opening celebration for local residents. The grand opening festivities will begin outside the store at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 24 with multiple prizes awarded, including a grand prize giveaway of free Sheetz for a Year.* The store’s official ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 2:45 p.m. This new location, which opens to the public at 9 a.m., will also welcome customers by offering free self-serve coffee and soda for the entire grand opening day.In honor of this grand opening, Sheetz will donate $2,500 to the Capital Area Food Bank, which leads the region’s efforts to provide equitable access to food and opportunity to people struggling with hunger and food insecurity. Each year, the organization sources and distributes food for more than 50 million meals.A second donation of $2,500 will also be presented to the Special Olympics of Maryland.
