Per the Maryland State Police: “Maryland State Police located the truck and have identified the driver involved in the fatal pedestrian hit-and-run crash that occurred in Montgomery County yesterday morning.

The driver is identified as Jadien Ranard Jones, 39 of Henrico, Virginia. Jones was the operator of a white 2021 Freightliner straight truck involved in the crash. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.

The victim, identified as Eric Lewis, 57, of Washington, D.C. was pronounced deceased at the scene. Lewis was the foreman for a mobile tree trimming operation contracted through the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration.

Shortly before 10:15 a.m. yesterday cones were set up on the right shoulder of eastbound I-495, east of Linden Lane in Silver Spring by a mobile tree trimming crew.
