Stone Silo Brewery is now open at 28800 Kemptown Rd in Damascus.
Damascus residents Don and Susan Katzenberger opened the craft farm brewery on the farmland adjacent to their existing property, which they’ve lived at since 1992. According to the brewery, “the original farm’s silo dated back to 1931 and served as inspiration for the name: Stone Silo Brewery. What is now the main tap room of the brewery used to be the farm’s milk house, which would have been an essential part of the active dairy barn. By repurposing the original beams of these structures, the silo and milk house were reconstructed into the brewery that stands today.”
The brewery currently offers a variety of ales, including IPA’s, stouts, and wheat beers, as well as hard seltzers. Stone Silo is open Thursday 12-8pm, Friday and Saturday 12-9pm, and Sunday 11am-5pm.
