Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision involving a motorcycle on Sunday, March 3.
Update: All westbound lanes of the Intercounty Connector (MD 200) just east of Exit 3 (Shady Grove Rd) have reopened. All eastbound lanes remain closed.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the incident occurred at approximately 4:30pm on MD 200, near the Shady Grove Rd Metro Access Rd. The operator of the motorcycle is being treated for traumatic injuries.
The Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management released the following at 5pm: “Alert Montgomery – Severe Traffic Alert Collision reconstruction investigation closes all eastbound and westbound lanes of the Intercounty Connector (MD 200) just east of Exit 3 (Shady Grove Rd). This will be an extended incident. Seek alternate route.”
