Dan Rasher, head coach of the Montgomery County Raptors baseball team, recorded his his 500th career win on Saturday, March 30 against Chesapeake College. The team currently has a 16-10 overall record.

Per the Montgomery County Raptors: Coach Rascher started coaching at Montgomery College in 2006 when the baseball team competed under the Germantown Gryphons brand. Under his leadership, the MC Raptors have accomplished numerous team awards including –

  • 9 NJCAA Division III World Series Appearances
  • 2009 NJCAA Division III World Series Runner-Up
  • 9 NJCAA Region XX Championships
  • 9 Time ABCA Region XX Coach of the Year.
  • 2 Time Maryland State Baseball Association College Coach of Year

His program has been a model of consistency both on and off the field. Rascher and his staff have coached 28 All-Americans, 7 Rawlings “Gold Glove” winners, and 3 Marucci Hitter winners. His recruitment has brought in high level talent to MC from numerous countries around the world, and over the span of his career, he has had more than 100 former student-athletes transfer to compete at 4-year institutions. Currently, he has 11 former student-athletes competing at a 4-year University. This success has also led to 4 players playing professional ball in leagues around the world, and one former player who currently serves as a Major League Baseball Umpire.

Success has not come easy nor was it accomplished alone, and coach Rascher never forgets the help of his former players and staff, “A Coach can only win 500 games if he is surrounded by outstanding players both in the classroom and on the field; and outstanding assistant coaches who work tirelessly to improve our athletes. Throughout my nineteen years at Montgomery College, I have had the privilege to work with both.”

Please join us in Athletics by congratulating Coach Rascher on a major accomplishment.
