Update: One Person Struck and Killed on I-270 After Fleeing Scene of Collision Saturday Night

The Maryland State Police have released additional information regarding a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred Saturday night.
Per the news release: At about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, troopers from the Rockville Barrack responded to the area of NB I-270 and Montrose Road for a two-vehicle motor vehicle crash with possible rollover and possible fire. Shortly after this call came out, Troopers received calls for a separate crash on the southbound side of Interstate 270 near Route 28.
According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of one of the vehicles in the northbound crash fled the scene on foot heading southbound. That person is believed to have been the same person struck by a vehicle on I-270 south. That pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene by Montgomery County emergency medical services personnel.
The identity of the victim has not been confirmed at this time. The cause of the crashes remain under investigation.
