Identity of Man Struck and Killed By Ride On Bus Released; Circumstances of Collision Remain Under Investigation

Montgomery County Police has released additional information regarding a fatal collision that occurred on Saturday, April 20, involving a pedestrian and a Ride On bus.

Per the news release: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal pedestrian fatality that occurred on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the intersection of Second Avenue and Colesville Road.

At approximately 1:55 a.m., 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian. Fire Rescue performed CPR however the pedestrian, 29-year-old Mohammed Y. Ramadhan, of Silver Spring was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation has revealed that at approximately 1:09 a.m., a Ride On Bus collided with Ramadhan for reasons that are still under investigation. After the collision, the Ride On Bus left the scene, and was later located. The circumstances of the collision are still under investigation. There are no updates at this time.

This is an active and ongoing investigation, and CRU detectives are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call (240) 773-6620.
