Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision involving an overturned tractor trailer at approximately 2am on Wednesday, July 10.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the collision occurred on northbound I-270, in the area of Democracy Blvd. One adult patient was transported with non-life threatening injuries. HazMat teams were called to the scene to manage leaking fuel tanks.
Per the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management and Homekand Security: “Two right travel lanes of I-270 North at Democracy Boulevard (Exit 1) are remains blocked from an overnight traffic incident. An extended closure expected through morning rush hour. Seek alternate route. #Md”
