Appliance Fire Causes ~$100,000 in Damage

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the 1500blk of Grandin Ave, off Broadwood Dr in Rockville on Wednesday for the report of a house fire.

According to MCFRS Spokesperson Pete Piringer on Thursday morning, the fire started on an entertainment center with several potential ignition sources, including a television, VCR, cable box, and router. The fire was ruled accidental, but the specific appliance that caused it could not be determined.

The damage is estimated at approximately $100,000, including $75,000 for the structure and $25,000 for the contents. One person has been displaced, and no injuries were reported. We will provide an update if additional information becomes available.
