Victim’s Identity Released as Detectives Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Collision

The Montgomery County Police Department has announced that a 30-year-old Silver Spring man was killed in a fatal collision that occurred on Saturday, July 27, 2024 on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the intersection of University Boulevard East and Langley Drive.

According to MCPD, “At approximately 8:59 p.m., 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue were dispatched to the location for the report of a pedestrian collision. The investigation has revealed that the pedestrian was crossing the eastbound lanes of University Boulevard East at Langley Drive when he was struck by a blue 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The decedent has been identified as 30-year-old Aman Abraham Gebreyesus, of Silver Spring. The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene.
