Am Kolel Jewish Renewal Community has opened its new Judaic Center in Rockville, Maryland, offering a warm, inclusive community—especially for those unaffiliated with traditional synagogues.
Am Kolel was founded to address unmet needs in the Jewish community and respond to social and eco-issues with a progressive Jewish voice. Am Kolel invites people to discover—or rediscover—a form of Judaism that is deeply personal, spiritually rich, and socially relevant.
Grounded in the principles of Jewish Renewal, Am Kolel embraces a joyful, musical, and accessible approach to Jewish life.
The new Center features a growing library of over 2,000 Judaic books, alongside rotating exhibits showcasing local Jewish artists. It serves as a vibrant hub for Shabbat services, classes, holiday celebrations, and lifecycle events.
In addition to programs at the Rockville Center, Am Kolel offers programs across Montgomery County and DC area, including High Holiday services at Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Silver Spring, a “Sex, Love, and Relationships” class for adults in their 20s to 40s at the Bender JCC, and a virtual Introduction to Judaism class.
Whether you’re looking for a spiritual home or simply exploring new paths, all are welcome.
