The Maryland Department of Health released Covid vaccination data yesterday, showing that 1,509 residents of the National Capital Region (consisting of Charles, Frederick, Montgomery, and Prince George’s counties) have taken the first dose of a Covid vaccine.

Vaccination rates in the other Maryland regions are:
• Baltimore Metropolitan Area: 0.23 percent
• Eastern Shore: 0.29 percent
• Southern Maryland: 0.04 percent
• Western Maryland: 0.18 percent

Currently, Pfizer and Moderna’s vaccines are approved and in use in Maryland. Montgomery County accepted its first shipment of vaccines earlier yesterday.
