$50,000 Winning Scratch-off Sold at MoCo Exxon

A DC resident is $50,000 richer after purchasing a winning lottery scratch-off ticket at the Exxonn gas station located 8301 Fenton Street in Silver Spring. Additional details below courtesy of the Maryland Lottery:
“A Washington, D.C. man who enjoys playing scratch-off tickets and jackpot games as a hobby said he can’t believe his luck. A few weeks ago, he was having fun with his favorite pastime when a Crazy 8s ticket yielded a $50,000 win. He had stopped at Fenton Street Exxon in Silver Spring for a Mega Millions ticket, but also decided to buy one $5 Crazy 8s ticket. He scratched it in the store revealing the $50,000 win, but was still a little confused.
“I wasn’t sure I was seeing what I was seeing, so I scanned it,” said the big winner. “When I saw that message, I knew it was a winner and headed straight home.”

A month went by before the lucky player claimed his prize. The concierge at a local tennis club said he was just too busy to come to visit the Lottery’s headquarters in Baltimore any sooner. While he’s had a little time to think about it, he still hasn’t decided what he will do with his newfound fortune. His immediate plan was to put the prize money in the bank and make plans later.
“It’s important to take your time and not make decisions too quickly,” he said.

Fenton Street Exxon, located at 8301 Fenton Street in Silver Spring, is also celebrating this win. For selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, the Montgomery County retailer will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery. The Crazy 8s game launched in November 2022 still has some major prizes left. There are four more $50,000 top prizes remaining, six $5,000 prizes and thousands of additional prizes ranging from $5 to $1,000.”
