Yoga parks Pics

Yoga

Stretch it out and relax with yoga classes(opens in a new tab)! On Saturday, June 25, from 9:30 to 10:30 am, join us at Brookside Gardens or the free yoga session(opens in a new tab) at Josiah Henson Museum and Park at 9 am.

Relaxation

Ease your mind at our Half-Day Mindfulness Retreat(opens in a new tab) at Brookside Gardens on Sunday, June 26, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Take a journey of relaxation with gentle yoga and meditation techniques. Connect with your inner self and the nature around you as you experience the beauty of the gardens.

Pride Month

Celebrate with us at Pride in the Park: Movie Night(opens in a new tab)! Enjoy a screening of the movie “Saturday Church”, a story of a teen having gender identity issues. This showing is at Jesup Blair Local Park and starts at 7 pm on Friday, June 24. Admission to this event is free!

Nature

Get outdoors and come learn about Eastern box turtles at Turtle Talk(opens in a new tab) at Brookside Nature Center in Wheaton on Saturday, June 25, 10 am. Admission is free, but you must register.

Also, Brookside Gardens on Saturday, June 25, 10 am, presents a virtual talk(opens in a new tab) from Dr. Desiree Narango on the ecological and evolutionary relationships between plants, pollinators, and songbirds. Admission to this event is free.

Skateboarding

Shred it at Skate Night(opens in a new tab) this Friday, June 24, at Takoma-Piney Branch Local Park from 6 to 8 pm. Bring your skateboards, scooters, inline skates, and roller skates and ride with popular local skaters. There will a disc jockey and a food truck onsite. Admission to this event is free!

 

Heritage Days

Montgomery Parks is excited to be a part of Heritage Montgomery’s 2022 Heritage Days(opens in a new tab) on Saturday, June 25, and Sunday, June 26! Our historic sites will be open with free admission on the following days:

Saturday, June 25

Head over to Woodlawn Museum, Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park, from 10 am to 4 pm for free admission. Visit Oakley Cabin, Oakley Cabin African American Museum and Park, from 12 pm to 4 pm for free admission. Check out the Seneca Store from 12 pm to 4 pm for free admission.

Sunday, June 26

Bethesda Film Fest

The 2024 Bethesda Film Fest will feature five short documentary films made by filmmakers from Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Screenings will be held Friday April 5 and Saturday April 6 at Landmark Bethesda Row Cinema.
