Abercrombie Permanently Closed in Montgomery Mall

We just learned that Abercrombie & Fitch has shut its doors for good in Westfield Montgomery. Today (Friday) was the store’s last day in operation.

Abercrombie is best known for their casual clothing, jeans, and fragrances.

Currently, there is one other Abercrombie location left in Maryland. However, a staff member at the Montgomery Mall location relayed to us that this store, in Towson, would be closing soon as well. We reached out to a representative from Abercrombie’s marketing team and are awaiting comment from them.

This Abercrombie store has been open in Montgomery mall for at least the past 20 years, closing briefly in 2006 to relocate. Our very own Alex T. worked at this location of the store back in 2000.

  1. I started working at imaginarium in the mall in 1992 and Abercrombie was open there then. I didn’t know they were still open. But, sad that it is leaving.

  2. I was the Store Manager when Abercrombie opened at Montgomery Mall, after managing in NYC and Georgetown. Even though it’s a very different stores, sorry to see businesses close.

  3. when is the frank pepe and gameworks in montgomery mall planning to open?

  4. The one is Wheaton closed? I guess the “retail apocolypse” continues. Everyone is shopping online due to covid19 pandemic. Will malls survive?

  5. It is just sad to see so many stores having to close their doors. Where will we find jobs?

  6. Personally Im impressed by the quality of this. Usually when I find stuff like this I stumble it. This article probably wont do well with that crowd. Ill look around and find another article that may work.
