Bethesda: Le Pain Quotidien Closes Bethesda Row Location; Replacement Already Announced

by MCS Staff

Le Pain Quotidien has closed in Bethesda Row after nearly 15 years in the location. The cafe has nearby locations at the plaza of The Shops at Wisconsin Place in Chevy Chase and in the Wildwood Shopping Center in Bethesda.

Replacing Le Pain Quotidien at 7140 Bethesda Ln will be NYC’s beloved cafe & bakery, maman.

Per Bethesda Row:

The Provençal-inspired café maman, created by co-founders Elisa Marshall and Benjamin Sormonte, will bring its fan-favorite salads, sandwiches, and Nutty Chocolate Chip Cookies, made famous by Oprah, to the Bethesda Row neighborhood later this spring/summer. In true maman fashion, the decor will boast florals and feature vintage windows and antique furniture, inspired by the South of France.

Celebrating 25 years in 2019, Bethesda Row is home to more than 536,000 square feet of best in class restaurants and retail. The opening of maman is a part of an impressive list of openings and announcements that offer a compelling mix for residents and visitors to enjoy.

maman Bethesda Row will be followed by two additional maman DC openings — in Georgetown and at Union Market.
