D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser announced Wednesday that indoor businesses like restaurants and gyms will be required to verify patrons 12 and older have received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine. Some locations, such as grocery stores and churches, are exempt.
The enforcement will go into effect on January 15 at 6am. Proof of a second vaccine dose will be required beginning on February 15 at 6am.
Locations include:
•Restaurants, bars, nightclubs
•Indoor exercise and recreational establishments
•Indoor cultural and entertainment facilities
•Indoor event and meeting establishments
On Monday, Bowser declared a State of Emergency and reinstated the District’s indoor mask mandate.
