Beyond MoCo: Frederick Police Arrest Two for New Years Eve Homicide

Per the Frederick Police Department: The Frederick Police Department has arrested two individuals in relation to an early morning homicide that occurred on New Years Eve.

On December 31, 2022, at approximately 4:47 AM, officers of the Frederick Police Department were dispatched to the Frederick Health Hospital, located at 400 W Seventh Street, in Frederick City, for an adult female who had been stabbed.  Lifesaving efforts were provided to the female, but she was later pronounced dead. The victim was identified as Mary Alice Seward, 41.

Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit were assigned the case to investigate. Based upon the investigation, Detectives were able to determine that the murder took place in the 200 block of Linden Ave. Over the last three days, detectives conducted numerous interviews and collected digital and physical evidence that has led the to the arrest of two suspects. On Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2022, Detectives located and arrested Ruben Terod Williams (08-16-1984) and Erin Elizabeth Davis (07-03-1985) for the murder. Both suspects were arrested without incident at their residence in Union Bridge, MD. Williams has been charged with 1st Degree Murder, 2nd Degree Murder, 1st Degree Assault & 2nd Degree Assault. Davis has been charged with Accessory to 1st Degree Murder & Accessory to 2nd Degree Murder. They are both currently being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

“I am beyond impressed with the efforts of our officers, detectives, and our crime scene personnel, who worked around the clock this New Years holiday to bring Ms. Seward’s killers to Justice,” said Chief of Police Jason Lando. “Our hearts are with the Seward family this holiday season after their tragic loss. Hopefully knowing these suspects are now in custody will bring them some sense of peace.”
