Board of Education Approves 2021-2022 Calendar

Today the Montgomery County Board of Education approved a 2021-2022 traditional school year calendar.

The school year will begin on Aug. 30, 2021 and end on June 15, 2022. This will likely mean teachers will be returning on Monday, August 23rd.

The Board of Education chose between two calendar scenarios that reflected different start and end dates for the 2021-2022 school year.

The scenarios included:

  • Full spring break
  • Contingency days
  • A minimum of 180 instructional days

Below you’ll see the scenario that was approved for the 2021-2022 traditional school year.

MCPS has incorrectly written “31” rather than “30” for September 30th. It doesn’t change the calendar.

Hi, thanks for the awesome comment! We are so sorry you feel that you were baited into clicking on something 😔.

We included the calendar provided by MCPS, including the size of the image. Luckily images are easily expanded on mobile devices as well as computers. We hope this helps you!

Students deserve better from the schools in Montgomery. The simple fact we can’t change districts is disturbing. To force children to go to a 1 star school is negligent at best. Should be criminal!
