Bus Collision Near Shady Grove Metro Station

A tour bus went off road into a wooded area this morning near the Shady Grove Metro parking garage, according to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Pete Piringer.

The collision occurred on an access ramp near the station. The driver was initially trapped inside the vehicle but has been extricated by MCFRS and is being evaluated for injuries. There were no passengers inside of the bus at the time of the collision.

Metro track #2 is being shut down as the bus impinged on the tracks.

Expect traffic in the area.
