According to a Biz Journals article from a few months back (linked below), Chaps Pit Beef is nearing a deal with a potential franchisee in Rockville according to owner Bob Creager.
The popular Baltimore style bbq restaurant, with current locations on Pulaski Highway in Baltimore and Aberdeen, has already reached a deal to bring their first franchised location to Frederick in the new Westview South mixed-use development off of Buckeystown Pike near I-270 in 2019.
When discussing the potential Rockville location, Creager said, “A lot of customers at the SE Baltimore location come from the Washington D.C. area, so Rockville makes for an ideal location.”
There are plans to take Chaps nationwide with inquiries from many states across the country.
Chaps Pit Beef has been featured on television shows “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” and “Man vs. Food” on the Food Network and Travel Channel. Guy Fieri referred to Chaps as having the “best sandwich in Baltimore.”
