Cinepolis Sneak Peek (Kentlands)

by MCS Staff

UPDATED TO REFLECT THE SOFT OPENING DATES ARE TBD

I had the opportunity to chat with the GM of the new Cinepolis, David Johnston, and get a sneak peek at what’s to come.

The luxury movie theater is planning on having its soft opening soon, but the dates are TBD.

Though the theater will have a full bar and televisions to watch games, etc. alcohol will likely not be served for about a month after they open.

You’ll be able to order your food from your seats in the theater or in advance. If you order in advance, the kitchen will start making your food as soon as you check in, so it can be ready soon after you get to your seats.

The closest comparison to Cinepolis is probably iPic (there’s a nearby location in Pike & Rose). Though prices haven’t been finalized, its expected that tickets will cost about 20-30% less than iPic. Cinepolis will also offer a rewards program that’s 100% free.

The theater offers 9 screens and a total of 526 seats, to ensure that you won’t have to deal with large crowds. They also have a 28 seat theater that they would rent out for birthday parties or other events.

For anyone that is worried about the price that comes with a luxury movie experience, I was told that the first showing of the day will be available at a lower cost, as well as movies before 5pm and after 9pm.

On M-F from 2pm-5pm (except for holidays), movie tickets will be available for just $8.

You can check out the concession menu in the pictures below, but the dining menu will include items like mozzarella sticks, nachos, gourmet beef sliders, truffle fries, salads, tacos, hot dogs, burgers, and much more.
