City of Rockville Cancels Halloween Events at Community Centers

The City of Rockville announced Sunday that they have cancelled the three Halloween Events that were scheduled at Rockville community centers.

Earlier this month Rockville cancelled their annual Rocktobierfest and Antique and Classic Car Shows.

Per the City of Rockville:

Out of an abundance of caution and in the interests of public health, Rockville’s three community centers have canceled their Halloween events. Twinbrook’s Monster Mash was scheduled for Oct. 9; Thomas Farm’s Halloween Carnival, Oct. 23; and Lincoln Park’s Peek-a-Boo, Oct. 30.

The Croydon Creek Nature Center will still hold a scaled-back version of its annual Croydon Creep event. Two Mini-Creeps will be held 10-11 a.m. and 11 a.m.-noon, Friday, Oct 15 for kids aged 2-5.

One adult per child. The nature center is at 852 Avery Road. Spaces are limited, so registration in advance is required. The event will be held outside and canceled if there’s inclement weather. Even though the event is outside, attendees are encouraged to wear face coverings, even if vaccinated.

A reminder that Rockville City Manager Rob DiSpirito announced the cancellation of the Antique Car Show and Rocktobierfest last week, citing public health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
