The upcoming 9.54-acre park is located at the former Consumer Product Safety Commission site on Rt. 28. (10901 Darnestown Road). A 16-month construction period is anticipated, with completion in February 2023.
Per the City of Gaithersburg: Because of a supply chain issue, there was a delay in receiving the stormwater piping necessary for the project. This has resulted in some delays in the progress on site. All of the stormwater piping arrived by the start of April and significant progress in installing stormwater piping and inlets has been made along the entrance drive.
Demolition of the existing foundation slabs has begun. Installation of the dust control screen and site clearing has been completed. Patriot Construction has begun to mobilize on-site with the installation of the Construction Trailer. Construction is underway with the installation of soil erosion and sediment control measures installed.
Construction started on Monday, November 8, 2021. A 16-month construction period is anticipated, with completion in February 2023. Work will continue through the winter months, weather permitting.
