County Council passes order for amended Phase 2 reopening plans
This past Tuesday, August 4, the Montgomery County Council unanimously approved an amended executive order for additional Phase 2 reopening plans. It is effective Wednesday, August 5.
Notable measures include:
• Restaurants and bars are now prohibited from selling alcohol on-site after 10pm. The change comes from recent contract tracing data revealing that there has been less social distancing at restaurants later in the night.
• Massage clinics, tattoo parlors, tanning salons, and other esthetic services are allowed to reopen by appointment only.
• Outdoor religious services now have an increased limit of up to 150 participants.
• Sports that are deemed “high risk,” such as soccer and flag football, are still not permitted. “Low risk” sports, such as kayaking and canoeing, are allowed with restrictions.
