With nearly 80% of American travelers planning trips during 2022, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2022’s Best Summer Travel Destinations and the D.C. Metro area has come in 2nd place behind Orlando, Florida.
To help travelers plan the perfect summer getaway, WalletHub compared 100 metro areas across 43 key indicators of budget- and fun-friendliness. The data set ranges from the cost of the cheapest flight to the number of attractions to COVID-19 cases.
The D.C. Metro area came in the top 20 in 6 of the 7 categories listed– travel costs/hassles, attractions, weather, activities, and safety. The area came in the second half of the list in the local costs category.
