Detectives Investigate Double Shooting in Silver Spring

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police– 2nd District Investigative Section are investigating the shooting of a 40-year-old male and a 26-year-old male that occurred on June 30 in Silver Spring in the 8800 block of Lanier Drive in Silver Spring.

On Wednesday, June 30, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the 8800 block of Lanier Drive for the report of a shooting. Officers located the 40-year-old male victim in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim stated to detectives that he was shot during a robbery. Officers then located the 26-year-old male victim in a nearby residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Both victims were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Detectives continue to work to determine if the two shootings are related.
