Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who committed a robbery in the 1100 block of East-West Hwy. in Silver Spring. On August 14, 2022, at approximately 9:40 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the above location for the report of an assault.
The victim stated that he was walking on south bound Georgia Ave., between Sligo Ave. and Blair Rd., when he felt someone hit him from behind. The unknown suspect repeatedly hit the victim with a blunt object, took the victim’s phone and walked away from the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives have released photos of the suspect.
