Detectives Investigating Early Morning Collision That Left One Man Dead in Silver Spring

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating an incident involving a motor vehicle that occurred this morning, Sunday, October 31, in Silver Spring.

At approximately 4:49 a.m., 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to 16th Street near the intersection of Lyttonsville Rd. to investigate an incident involving a motor vehicle.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the operator of a black Cadillac Escalade collided with a metal pole while traveling northbound on 16th St., approaching Lyttonsville Rd.

The driver of the Cadillac was pronounced deceased at the scene. The decedent was identified as a 35-year-old male from Bristow, Virginia. At this time, there are no signs of foul play suspected. The two other adult occupants in the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
