Update: Dog Missing After Being Rescued From Fire in Montgomery Village Has Been Reunited With Owner

Reecey, the dog that was rescued from a burning, smoke-filled condo on March 30th by MCFRS, only to go missing after bolting from firefighters, has been reunited with her owner.

Her owner provided an update on Saturday via twitter, “Thank you everybody there’s so many people to think my girl is back home and doing great.”

March 31 Update:
A dog, named Reecey, was rescued from a burning, smoke-filled condo yesterday by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue units. Unfortunately, Reecey “got loose and bolted from firefighters and is now missing” according to MCFRS PIO Pete Piringer.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue units responded to a call for a fire on Wednesday evening at approximately 6pm on Walkers Choice Road in Montgomery Village.

Upon arriving, firefighters helped evacuate the three story apartment building and began fighting the fire on the first floor/terrace level of the apartment.

A dog was located, secured, and rescued. There were no injuries caused by the fire, but several people have been displaced.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
