A bicyclist has been struck and critically injured by a driver on southbound Rockville Pile (MD-355) near Talbott Street, according to our public safety reporter Cordell Pugh.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) were called to the scene and are transporting the bicyclist to the hospital with critical injuries (priority 1 trauma). While it might be legal per state law to use the right lane, it simply is not practical and dangerous as the cyclist will now most likely agree. In a circumstance like that, I ride on the sidewalk and even that can be dangerous.
