Chef Raynold Mendizabal, the owner and chef of popular Silver Spring Restaurant Urban Butcher, is Opening El Sapo on Tuesday, October 30th at 4pm (8455 Fenton St. Silver Spring, MD).

El Sapo will be “unmistakably Cuban, full of instense flavors, laughter, music, colors and aroma.” The food will be inspired by the foods Chef Mendizabal ate at home and on the streets of La Habana while he was growing up as well as his journey as a chef throughout the years.

Happy hour will last from 4pm-7pm and will consist of half-price mojitos and specials on beer, wine, and Cubano sandwiches.

“Havana Nights” will start at 9pm on Sunday-Thursday and at 10pm on Friday and Saturday. These late nights will include chill music, island vibes, half-price mojitos, and a limited food menu.

Yes…there will be brunch! It will be on Sundays from 11am-3pm. You’ll be able to find traditional brunch fare as well as Cuban street food, churros, and cortaditas.

The restaurant will also serve lunch at their lunch and cortaditas window. Lunch hours will be from 11:30am-2pm at their pick-up window only.

El Sapo will open daily at 4pm for dinner service.
