There is a Flood Watch in effect this afternoon, Wednesday, June 22, for Northwest MoCo that will begin at 3pm through this evening. Today will start with plenty of us with temperatures reaching the upper 80s and feeling like the mid to upper 90s. Thunderstorms are expected to roll in during the late afternoon hours. Per the National Weather Service:

* WHERE…Portions of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia,
including the following areas:
* WHEN…From 3 PM EDT this afternoon through this evening.
* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

– Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected later this afternoon into the evening. Given a very warm and moist air mass, these will produce some very heavy rainfall at times. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible within the span of a couple of hours, with locally higher amounts
possible.
