Former Maryland State Delegate Maricé Morales Running For County Council

Former Maryland State Delegate Maricé Morales has announced she is running for County Council in District 4. Morales was elected to the Maryland House of Delegetes, representing District 19, in 2014 but lost her bid for reelection in 2018.

From her website:

WHY I AM RUNNING
I am running to represent the residents of District 4 on the Montgomery County Council in order to connect the district’s constituents to the resources they need to succeed as individuals, parents, employees, and business owners. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted existing inequities in education, housing, transportation, employment, and healthcare. We’ve suffered hardships in physical and mental health, but also discovered innovative ways to connect with each other. We are at a critical juncture as we transition out of isolation, with unprecedented opportunities to make the changes we want to see in our communities and our county.
