Free IUL MOCO Student Holiday Festival & Block Party (Sponsored by FitFathers)

by Patrick Herron

The IUL MOCO Student Holiday Festival will provide an environment to celebrate MCPS African American and/or students of African descent as they continue to navigate their way through the COVID pandemic and define their new sense of normalcy. The free event includes various presentations throughout the day, including a special presentation of the IUL COVID Student Creativity Competition

(www.iulmocostudentsfirst.org), an ongoing competition for Montgomery County students to express their thoughts on how they are coping with the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, there will be a holiday raffle for some great prizes, holiday games/activities and a dance party featuring a local DJ. Food will be served at 12 noon. Special guests will visit throughout the day. Montgomery County COVID protocols will be enforced, including wearing masks indoors.

Hosted by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Montgomery County Chapter, the event will take place from 10 am until 4 pm at the Silver Spring Civic Building in Downtown Silver Spring, MD. The event is FREE, but you must RSVP for entry at www.tinyurl.com/MOCOSTUDENTFALLFESTIVAL.
