Germantown Vaccination Site Set to Open Wednesday, 3/31
The mass vaccination site at the Montgomery College Germantown campus will be opening on Wednesday, 3/31 as a county-run clinic before the site becomes state sponsored the week of April 4th.
According to WTOP, the site will distribute 1,500 doses a day between Monday and Friday. Beginning April 5th, with assistance from the state of Maryland, the site is expected to move to a seven day a week operation which will administer 3,000 shots a day.
Earlier this week the State of Maryland issued a memo which stated that counties must follow the state’s vaccine eligibility guidelines. The state of Maryland is currently in stage 2A. You can find a list of the different stages and who is currently eligible for the vaccine here.
Phase 2B, which includes all Marylanders 16 and older with underlying medical conditions that increase the risk of severe COVID-19 illness, as defined by CDC guidelines, will begin on Tuesday, March 30th.
Marylanders in Phase 1, as well as Phases 2A and 2B, can now pre-register for an appointment at a mass vaccination site by visiting covidvax.maryland.gov or calling 1-855-MD-GOVAX (1-855-634-6829).
