Governor Hogan Lifts Restrictions on Restaurants And Outdoor Events Beginning May 15 – Indoor Mask Requirements Remains in Place

Notes From Governor Hogan’s May 12th COVID-19 Update:

-Re: Colonial Pipeline Incident: No need for panic buying gas, that will just make things worse. No supply shortage.

-Great progress on COVID-19. Vaccines and improved health metrics will be what get’s us back to normal.

-5.3M vaccines administered in Maryland as of today. 86% of adults over 65 fully vaccinated.

-Expect to have 70% of all adults by Memorial Day weekend.

-Effective Saturday, lifting all restrictions on outdoor events as well as all restrictions on indoor and outdoor dining at restaurants.  Reminder, the restrictions in Montgomery County will remain in place until they are lifted by the Montgomery County Council. 

-Indoor Mask Requirement remains in place until 70% of adults have received one vaccine dose.

-Eligibility for adolescents 12-15 to receive the Pfizer vaccine will begin tomorrow.

-Maryland will be reinstating work search requirements for unemployment benefits.
